Cross-Society Intelligence Assessment
Historical Conflicts Between Societies
The Blood-Moon Wars, 1740-1763: Prolonged vampire-werewolf conflict across Eastern Europe over territorial boundaries. Resolved through OVM-mediated negotiation following the Vienna Purge of 1763, which refocused vampire energy inward.
The Withering, 1831-1835: Nature spirit retaliation against witch covens for environmental exploitation. Resolved through Báthory's withdrawal of coven operations from heavily contested natural areas.
The Spectral Purge, 1902-1907: Vampiric elimination of restless spirits competing for night hunting territories in European urban centers.
The Essence Wars, 1967-1972: Multi-faction conflict following discovery of enhanced energy harvesting methods. Resolved through OVM enforcement of territorial boundaries.
Current Inter-Society Dynamics
Resource Competition: Escalating conflicts over diminishing viable feeding territories as human surveillance and development reduce available space for supernatural activity.
Information Trading: A black market exchange of human surveillance data between supernatural factions operates continuously. Factions regularly pass intelligence on rivals to the OVM when it serves their interests.
Power Balancing: Temporary alliances form to prevent any single society from achieving dominance. These alliances dissolve as soon as the threat that produced them is managed.
Territorial Agreements: Uneasy non-interference pacts in major urban centers prevent the kind of inter-society conflict that would guarantee Veil exposure.
Overall Global Assessment
Vampiric society maintains dominance through organizational superiority. All seven societies face unprecedented challenges from modern surveillance technology, scientific investigation capabilities, and the accelerating pace of information distribution. All seven are adapting, with varying degrees of success. The OVM assessment is that the current period represents the highest sustained Veil pressure in organizational history, and that no single society is positioned to collapse the Veil unilaterally, but that the cumulative adaptation failures across multiple societies create a risk profile that requires continuous active management.
